Dr. Yuanyuan “Martin” Ding, Chief Technology Officer of ACCEL (Tianjin) Flight Simulation Co., Ltd., is responsible for the joint venture's entire engineering and technical leadership. He is accountable for ACCEL's technical direction, including training solution design and development, all engineering personnel, engineering processes and procedures, IT group, intellectual property application and data management.
Dr. Ding has over sixteen years of engineering, R&D, and program management experience of successfully driving aviation products full life cycle development and advanced technology R&D projects. He was assigned as the sole organization representative as the member of RTCA SC-220 contributing to the development of technical standards for Automatic Flight Guidance and Control Systems (RTCA DO-335/DO-336).
Dr. Ding started out his professional career as the Internship Engineer with Cobham Commercial Systems, Mineral Wells, Texas, and soon promoted to Senior Project Engineer responsible for the TSO certification efforts for a series of Autopilot and Display products. He later moved to Olathe, Kansas and worked for Garmin International as the Flight Controls Systems Engineer. In January 2012, Dr. Ding went back to China and joined Honeywell China as the Principal System Engineer and Program Manager for the Advanced Technology Division. Dr. Ding’s employment with ACCEL (Tianjin) Flight Simulation Co., Ltd started in July 2017 when he served as the Software Engineering Manager leading a team of close to twenty engineers, and later was promoted to be the Chief Technology Officer of the organization in August 2019.
Dr. Ding is an innovator with three China/WO invention patents granted. He also chaired the first innovation council of an engineering organization of 400+ engineers, leading the cross-function team and closely collaborating with executive management to significantly improve the organization innovation artifact quality and IP maturity.
Dr. Ding graduated from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics with Master of Science in Mechanical and Electronic Engineering in May 2001. He then went abroad to United States to pursue Post-Master education opportunity and graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, with Doctor of Philosophy in Aerospace Engineering in May 2007.
